We are so blessed that we can help others in our community with our local food bank. This ministry is made possible because of the local churches in the area, Thornton Firefighters' Association, Thornton Lions Club and a number of local retailers and individuals who donate to this important need. The Thornton Community Food Bank is housed in our basement and is currently operating under New Life Community Christian Church.
The vision for this Ministry is an exciting time as we will continue to meet the needs of physical food but also to give support for Spiritual and emotional needs whether you need a prayer or someone to talk to.
Each week many families visit and are able to obtain canned goods, bread, eggs, milk and cheese along with fresh produce some of which is donated but some of which is grown through a team effort by our congregation members in our very own gardens.
We have a couple of families that have started their own Ministry that is supporting Birthday Bags for children ages 2-12. This is such a thoughtful and beautiful way to give back to those less fortunate.
Prayers are powerful so we encourage you to let us pray with you while you are here. If you are not ready for that we also offer a prayer jar for those who would like us to start praying for their personal needs. Your prayers are placed in our prayer jar and will be added each week to our Church prayers. We would love to intercede on your behalf and watch God move in your life.
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest pray of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16
